#pound: print+sound 001
Introducing pound: print + sound, the rejuvenation issue. The idea for #pound: print + sound was conceived by Ev Petgrave as well as the artist commissioning and oversight and partial designing of the magazine.
For our inaugural issue, we feature some of the best and brightest up and coming artists that are breathing life into their respective fields. The magazine is soundtracked by budding 19 year old music producer, NIYAH.
Concept Rxch provides a floral collage that invites readers and listeners into our carefully curated sights and sounds. We share conversation with writer and poet jayy dodd on art, family, and gender fluidity.
Myles E. Johnson pens an intimate essay on achieving rejuvenation as a Black queer person, while Tai Gooden rounds up a bevy of Black women in the comic world to relay their experiences to us.
Australia-based Paula do Prado lets us in on how her mixed European and Afro-Uruguayan heritage influences her artwork. We interview Naomi Thomas, founder of Tech Girl Academy.
Alongside personal essays and interviews, we present photo sets by Mark Aghatise, Bree Gant, Makeda Sandford, Allison Lida Thaymon, and Cristina Wright.
